Welcome to Cowbridge Judo Club's web site
Welcome to the Cowbridge Judo club site, I hope the information you require is easily found regarding the Club & Judo in general (If not, email me and I'll endeavour to make it available.
My name is Stephen Cooper, and I coach Judo at the Cowbridge club. The club has been running at the current location since November 2007 and is registered with the British Judo Association (BJA) & Welsh Judo Association (WJA)
A bit about myself: - I have been practising Judo for most of my life on & off. I have a black belt in Judo and coaching level II. I have also been CRB checked as part of the coaching requirements. I have also been involved in playing & coaching other sports - mainly football & rugby.
Main goals and objectives of the Club
We are a family-based club with ages ranging from 5 to 70, so the whole family can practise at the same time. The main aim of the club is to promote the sport of Judo for all ages, all levels of physical abilities, and to provide opportunities for fun, healthy recreation, and competition for all. We promote the virtues of Judo, e.g., discipline, mutual respect & hard work, and provide a safe, friendly, and enjoyable environment for the practice of Judo. All people who attend are treated fairly and gain equal benefits regardless of race, age. gender, background, or ability. Judo is a sport that has a holistic approach, e.g., balancing the physical and mental aspects of the sport, not forgetting to allow fun to creep in.
